Stewart Melton

Stewart is a writer, director & facilitator.

He was formerly Youth and Community Director of Southwark Playhouse and has facilitated creative learning and community projects with theatres including Young Vic, Donmar Warehouse, the Almeida, Half Moon and Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre. He collaborated with Christina Birt Projects (the forerunner to All Ways Making) as a facilitating artist for Creative Critics, first at the Yorkshire Festival in 2016 and subsequently at the Bury Festival in 2017.

Stewart has worked as a dramaturg at the RSC, Ovalhouse and the Arcola Theatre and was a finalist for the JMK Young Directors Award. His scripts for children and young people have been staged across the UK and internationally at Haya Arts Center in Amman, Jordan and, in the autumn of 2018, at the National Theatre of Greece.
